Welcome to My World !
Hello and thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. Over the past 14 years, I have been blessed to have officiated nearly 3,000 ceremonies for couples and families from all around the globe. My name is Dr. Samora Smith (aka The Lovesmith), and I am a non-denominational minister with an interfaith approach. I personally come from a multi-faith family comprised of many faith traditions, as well as non-believers. I am also the Associate Director for The New Seminary for Interfaith Studies, where I was ordained in 2008 and a seminary founded 41 years ago by Rabbi Joseph Gelberman who had a vision that "we are all one" and established the seminary along with Swami Satchidinanda (founder of Yogaville and The Integral Yoga Center) and other interfaith luminaries. I established Common Ground Ceremonies in 2010 to offer ceremonies and services to diverse and mixed communities. Growing up in NYC and being of mixed-race and from a spiritually diverse background, I knew that I could offer an inclusive and welcoming approach regardless of a person's beliefs, sexual orientation, or background.

Diversity and Inclusivity are important aspects of Common Ground Ceremonies. No one is ever turned away because of their beliefs. I also only work with and recommend companies and vendors who lead with the same ideals. I create ceremonies for all rites of passage, as well as customized celebrations for any special occasion. I am committed to supporting couples and families in creating and sustaining healthy relationships. Marriage is sacred and I believe that preparation is the key to any successful venture. My relationship coaching approach is supporting you in being the best version of yourself and learning how to honor and inspire your partner (and children) to mirror that back.
