Who We Are
Rev. Dr. Samora Smith (Founder/CEO)
Rev. Dr. Samora Smith (aka "The Lovesmith")was born and raised in NYC and comes from a mixed and multifaith background. Dr. Samora is also a multi-talented musical artist with certifications in sound and vibrational healing. She created Common Ground Ceremonies to bring people together and offer ceremonies in the spirit of inclusivity and love. Dr. Samora leads with an inclusive and welcoming approach and recently expanded her team to offer bilingual and indigenous ceremonies. As the Assoc. Director of The New Seminary for Interfaith Studies and Director for The Interfaith Temple where she was ordained in 2008 and received her Doctorate in 2020, Dr. Samora now leads and coaches students of all faiths and backgrounds. Dr. Samora is also a relationship expert and Marriage Coach. She created The Marriage Success Blueprint™, an online course that is offered to support engaged and newlywed couples in building a strong foundation for their marriage.

Antonio Rodriguez
Spanish-Speaking Officiant
Antonio is a Spanish-speaking, native New Yorker, and a recent New Jersey transplant after 40+ years of living in NYC. We are proud to welcome him to the Common Ground Ceremonies family as one of our most beloved, and sought-after bilingual, Spanish-speaking wedding officiants in New York and New Jersey. Antonio and Rev. Dr. Samora first met when he asked if he could assist her in officiating his friend's wedding. Ever since then, Antonio and Dr. Samora have become great friends, sharing the same philosophies, and now a mutual passion for officiating. Antonio is available to perform ceremonies in New York City, New Jersey, Westchester, Long Island, and the Tri-State area.
Corinne Jox
French-Speaking NYC Officiant
Corinne is a New York City–based wedding officiant, originally from France. She frequently officiates intimate ceremonies in iconic locations such as Central Park, Brooklyn, and private venues throughout New York City.
Known for her calm and reassuring presence, Corinne places great importance on helping couples feel comfortable and confident, especially those traveling from Europe who may be unfamiliar with how things work in New York City. She enjoys sharing practical tips and guidance so couples can relax, stay present, and fully embrace their wedding day.
In addition to officiating, Corinne assists couples with the administrative aspects of getting married in New York City, including the marriage license process and support with Apostille paperwork when needed.
Her approach is warm and personal, with the goal of allowing couples to be themselves and truly absorb the unique energy that New York City has to offer.
Mia Morrow
Elopement Coordinator
Mia, our day of coordinator extraordinaire is the Founder of Elle Morrow Weddings and aptly called "the saver of your sanity". She has coordinated hundreds of events, parties, galas, and weddings and her passion is making your special day as smooth and enjoyable as possible. As a coordinator, Mia knows how to anticipate your needs and takes the time to get to know you and the details of your event. She is gifted with interacting with your family and guests, as well as the other vendors involved. Rest assured that when Mia is on the scene you will be treated like royalty and she will bring a feeling of ease and support to your special day.
